NewsletterPaths to Financial Vibrancy Workshops

In the increasingly uncertain funding environment, financially vibrant organizations are not dependent on any one funder. To attract investment and diversify funding, financially vibrant organizations think and act holistically. They are adaptable to change. They are effective in all organizational functions.  And they deliver outstanding results in their community.

ONESTEP, in partnership with ACTEW and OAYEC, developed and launched the Paths to Financial Vibrancy project in 2007.  FinancialVibrancy.org is a hub of peer-to-peer learning for Ontario’s community-based employment and training sector (CBET). It is an online community of practice where leaders and practitioners can learn from others and share their own experiences. It is part of a process to build organizational capacity from within.

We invite board members, executive directors, senior managers and managers to participate in one of the four regional one-day workshops focusing on two of the nine identified paths to financial vibrancy; strategic planning and program innovation.

These one-day workshops will be offered in four Ontario locations:

June 11 – Valhalla Inn, 1 Valhalla Inn Road - Toronto, ON
June 12 – Centre Francophone de Vanier, 270 Marier Ave. (off Montreal Rd., at the corner of Marier Ave.) – Ottawa, ON
June 18 – Valhalla Inn, 1 Valhalla Inn Road - Thunder Bay, ON

There is no fee to attend this workshop.

Reserve your place today! Spaces are limited to ensure individual attention, interaction and discussion and will fill quickly.

Strategic Planning
“Strategic planning?  Was it 8 or 10 years ago we did that?”
Does this sound familiar?  Why is that?  Vision doesn’t stick.  If vision doesn’t stick, why do the planning?  Too many organizations give up and end up looking like every other agency.
The truth is that without a strategic plan, running your organization seems like trying to go to Ottawa when you have a map of Vancouver.  Learn how to develop a map that everyone can read.  The Financial Vibrancy self-assessment tool determines your starting point; your experience in this workshop will energize the concepts in your mind.  Learn how to paint the picture that everyone wants to be in.  Learn how to engage your team.  Make a vision that sticks.
Program Innovation and Vibrancy
Innovation is the key to sustainability, but what is it really?  It is NOT sitting down with a partner in the community and asking “what if”.  It is NOT finding a successful proposal and trying to match it to your organization.  Diversifying isn’t innovation.  Innovation is the courage to ask the question “What is? What could be?”

The Financial Vibrancy Project tool is a great way to start thinking in terms of best practices and what is working.  This collaborative workshop gives you the opportunity to take great concepts and put it into a new context.  In this “anything is possible” environment; the landscape can change overnight.  You will be given tools to learn how to break free from the thinking patterns that trap you into the same solutions.  Learn how to take the ordinary success and make it extraordinary.
